We are thrilled to announce the start of the most significant technical overhaul and rewrite of the MillTech system in our 20+ year history – named…for the moment MillTech 2.o.
This comprehensive upgrade will modernize the entire platform, making it faster, more reliable, and ready for the next decade of service to the solid wood industry.
Project Summary
In August 2025, our development team began this six month initiative. These long-planned improvements could no longer be delayed, and we are excited to being close to finally delivering them to you.
In keeping with MillTech’s long standing business model there is no additional cost for this upgrade. It is covered under your existing Upgrade and Support Agreement.

Major Technical Upgrades Coming in MillTech 2.o

Full migration to 64-bit architecture (faster, more memory, future-proof)

Complete rebuild of the user interface using the latest Infragistics UI controls

Upgrade to the most current Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Service’s (SSRS) Report Viewer (we’re currently use the 2012 Report Viewer)

Move to the latest .NET framework (Microsoft’s and MillTech’s current development platform)

A number of other performance, stability and especially security improvements and updates throughout the system
The result: A noticeably faster performance and a platform that can more quickly and securely evolve for years to come. The upgrade will make planned projects such as APIs and MillTech web and MillTech AI much easier to address.
